Custom house from 1822 to 1992 The main building was constructed in 1783-85, and in this period up till 1822 the other buildings on the property where erected. It was owned privatly by four different owners up to 1820 when it was bought by the custom department, and functioned as a customs house until it closed in 1992. In 1997 the property was sold from the council to Leif Abel Engh, who in 1997 sold the property on to Andres Tanberg. In march 2007 Ivar Tollefsen bought the property.
Service establishment from 1999 In the summer season of 1999 a simple café project was started in the left hand-side sea shanty, the outside area, together with the sale of italian ice-cream in the basement of the main building.Throughout the next four years the sea shanties where totally renovated and established in to a restaurant buisness. In this period the cafe was only open in the summer. In November 2002 the restaurant opened for all year round serving. After the summer of 2003 the ice-cream shop unfortunately had to be closed down due to the rapid growth of sales outdoors, and the sales have doubled seven times in five years.
